how do i ask my boss for a raise ?

I am a roofer and I started four months ago at 9.00 hr.I came from a resturant making 10 hr. My boss gave me raise within 2 weeks to 10 an hr.But we don't allways work because of rain or if he dose't fill like it. And we do't get overtime pay 401 or no insurance. And we don't work weekin unless everybody wants to work.
