The UFC is most definitely real. Unlike the WWE, it is unscripted and the competitors really are landing blows to each other. It is much like Thai kick boxing you would see in other countries, but with a more diverse set of fighting styles.

I think the best way to convince someone is to sit them down and watch some of the fights. There is no faking the elbows to the head that creates a 3" cut that oozes out blood. At the end of the longer bouts the fighter's face will be swollen and bleeding.
